Second Chance
The Second Chance Giveaway is an annual initiative dedicated to diverting high-quality design materials from the landfill and putting them back into the hands of the community. This program connects surplus samples from the design and construction industries with individuals, artists, educators, and makers who can repurpose them for new projects.
Materials available at the giveaway include:
Fabric and upholstery swatches
Carpet and flooring samples
Tile and stone
Paint and wallpaper
Wood and trim pieces
And more
Since its launch, the Second Chance Giveaway has successfully diverted over 32 tons of materials, proving that sustainability and creativity go hand in hand. The 2025 installment will take place on April 26, 9am - 2pm offering another opportunity to extend the life cycle of valuable materials and promote a circular economy.
By redistributing these materials, the program not only reduces waste but also supports a culture of reuse, accessibility, and resourcefulness in the Charlotte community.
If you are in the design community and have samples you would like to donate - we will receive those April 25th, 2025 from 1 - 6pm. You can bring carpet, tile, stone, paint, plastic laminates, fabric and wall covering to the Innovation Barn located at 932 Seigle Ave.
